Despite the travel between China and the US has been banned since January 31, people continue to incorrectly assume those of Asian ethnic descent are the sole carriers of the virus—acting out in irrational and ridiculous ways.
We all have to do our part to prevent this terrifying spread. COVID-19 doesn’t discriminate and—just because it originated somewhere—neither should we.

January 31st: America bans all travel to and from China
February 1st: an Asian woman wearing a mask at Grand St station is called a “diseased bitch” and physically assaulted after confronting her attacker.
February 24th: a man in San Francisco is attacked with a metal club, robbed, and humiliated while collecting cans.
March 4th: an Asian man is sprayed with Febreeze for simply standing on the subway.
March 10th: an Asian woman is punched in the face for not wearing a mask.
March 18: President Trump on Wednesday defended his increasingly frequent practice of calling the coronavirus the “Chinese Virus,” ignoring a growing chorus of criticism that it is racist and anti-Chinese.
